UAE starts garbage power generation Era
According to a report by Agence France Presse, Sharjah
waste incineration power plant has produced the first kilowatt of energy, opening a new era of clean energy production and carbon neutrality in the UAE.
The power plant is the first of its kind in the region. It will convert nearly 300000 tons of garbage into energy every year, generate 30 MW of low-carbon power, and supply power to nearly 28000 households in the UAE. The power plant will help UAE reduce its carbon dioxide emissions by 450000 tons per year and support the country's goal of carbon neutrality by 2050.
The country is building garbage power plants in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, umm gawan and other places.
